This Wednesday, a special agent from the DEA in conjunction with Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio released the results of a recent joint operation.
The officers say that they serviced arrest warrants throughout Pinal and Maricopa County which led to many arrests in states outside of Arizona, including: California, Minnesota, Ohio, and even New York.
Over the course of a year, the officers conducted an investigation into a marijuana trafficking ring. Their hard work led to 22 people being arrested for drug crimes, 17 of which reside in the valley. Police also say that two of the people that were involved had been working for UPS and that the majority of the suspects are ages 30 to 40.
At this time, the suspects are facing charges that range from conspiracy to money laundering. During the investigation, law enforcement managed to obtain 1,000 pounds of marijuana as well as $1 million in cash.
