A hit and run car accident in Phoenix left a victim not only with a severed leg, but a missing leg at that.
Police reports show that Jose DeJesus Padilla-Rodriguez, 26, was driving last weekend when he caused a car accident that killed a pedestrian and seriously injured another man. Officers were able to track down Padilla-Rodriguez thanks to eyewitness testimony that gave a description of his car. After searching the area, officers got a tip and found the vehicle in a nearby apartment complex.
When they arrived at the complex, the vehicle was observed to have extensive windshield damage, as well as two broken mirrors. The police tracked down the owner of the vehicle, who then explained that the car had been lent to Padilla earlier the night before.
